Explanation

Biotic community together with the physical environment forms an interacting system which is called ecosystem.
Peculiarities: ( 1 ) An ecosystem may be of a small or a large size.
( 2 ) Organisms (Plants, animals and micro- organisms) of an ecosystem interacting with their physical environment.
( 3 ) Each ecosystem has specific constitution and performs specific function.
( 4 ) Each ecosystem merges with another ecosystem.
