Current of `50/pi` Hz frequency is passing through an A.C. circuit having series combination of resistance R = 100`Omega` and L = 1 H, then phase difference between voltage and current is ……….

A

`60^@`

B

`45^@`

C

`30^@`

D

`90^@`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
B

`f=50/pi` Hz
`therefore omega=2pif =2pixx50/pi`=100 rad/s
`X_L=omegaL=100xx1=100Omega` and in R-L series A.C. circuit, the phase difference between voltage and current
`delta=tan^(-1)(X_L/R)=tan^(-1) (100/100)=tan^(-1) (1)`
`therefore delta=pi/4` or `45^@`
