For a series L-C-R a.c.circuit at resonance, the statement which is not true ?

A

Wattless current is zero

B

Power factor is zero

C

Peak energy stored by a capacitor = peak energy stored by an inductor

D

Average power = apparent power

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
A, B

For a series L-C-R, A.C. circuit at resistance, `omegaL=omegaC` So Z = R. So resultant power factor
cos `delta=R/"|Z|"`
`therefore cos delta=R/R=1`
`therefore delta=0^@`
Thus, power factor is 1 and in the circuit only resistance is effective So loss of power is maximum.
