For the reading obtained in ideal voltmeters and ammeters in above circuits.

A

`V_2 gt V_1` and `i_1 gt i_2`

B

`V_2 lt V_1` and `i_1=i_2`

C

`V_1=V_2` and `i_1 gt i_2`

D

`V_1=V_2` and `i_1 = i_2`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
D

Current in circuit (1) ,

`i_1=V/R=10/10`=1A
Current in circuit (2),

For the ideal voltmeter, there will not be any effect of resistance connected in series with it.
Hence `i_2=10/10`=1 A
`V_1=10 i_1 = 10 xx1`=10 Volt
`V_2=10 i_2 = 10 xx1` = 10 Volt
`therefore V_1=V_2` and `i_1=i_2`

In the circuit shown below, what will be the reading of the voltmeter and ammeter?

A battery of electro motive force E is connected in series with a resistance R and a voltmeter. An ammeter is connected in parallel with the battery. then

A steady current is passed for 25minutes through a silver voltameter and ammeter in series and 0.059g of silver of deposited. The ammeter reads 0.3A. Find the errror, if any, in the ammeter reading, given that the E.C.E. of silver =11.18xx10^(-7) kg C^(-1) .

See the figure given below and find the readings of ideal ammeter and ideal voltmeter. (There is no zero error.)
