Acquired characteristics/traits

Explanation

The changes in non-reproductive tissues cannot be passed on to the DNA of the germ cells and are not inherited over generations. Such traits are called acquired traits.
The experiences of an individual during its lifetime cannot be passed on to its progeny and cannot direct evolution.
Examples of acquired traits :(1) The weight of the beetle is reduced due to starvation. Low weight is not a trait that can be inherited by the progeny of a starving beetle.
(2) If the tails of these mice are removed by surgery in each generation, but no tailless progeny produced. Because removal of the tail cannot change the genes of the germ cells of the mice.
(3) Swimming in water, learning of several languages other than one.s own mother tongue, skating with the roller skates, to have a scar on the face following a facial injury.
