To demonstrate the process of thermoelec...

To demonstrate the process of thermoelectric production with a model.
Apparatus and materials: Pressure cooker, pipe, tennis ball, metal sheet, dynamo, bulb.
Procedure :
`rarr` Take a table-tennis ball and make three slits into it.
`rarr` Put semicircular fins cut out of a metal sheet into these slits.
`rarr` Pivot the tennis ball on an axle through its centre with a straight metal wire fixed to a rigid support. Ensure that the tennis ball rotates freely about the axle.
`rarr` Now connect a cycle dynamo to this.
`rarr` Connect a bulb in series.
`rarr` Direct a jet of water or steam produced in a pressure cooker at the fins. Note down your observation.

Observation : The bulb gets lighted.
What is your conclusion from this activity ?

To study the vegetative propagation in potato. Apparatus : Tray, cotton Material : Potato Procedure : rarr Take potato tuber and observe its surface. rarr Observe the pits on its surface and bud present in the pit. rarr Make circle around them with the help of marker. rarr Cut the potato into small pieces in such a way that, some of them possess bud. rarr Now put wet cotton in the tray and put the potato pieces on it. rarr Water for some days in tray, so that cotton remains wet. rarr Observe the changes that occur in the potato piece. Which are the potato pieces, that give rise to fresh green shoots and roots ?
