According to socio biologist Edward Wilson, the combined diversity at all the levels of biological organisation is described as biodiversity.
Types of biodiversity include-
a) Genetic diversity - A single species might show high diversity at the genetic level over its distributional range.
b) Species diversity - refers to the diversity at the species level.
c) Ecological diversity- Diversity at the ecosystem level.
