Solid wastes refer to everything that goes out in trash. It can be disposed in different ways-
Municipal solid wastes comprising paper, food wastes etc., are burnt openly.
In a sanitary land fill, municipal solid wastes are dumped in a depression or trench after compaction and covered.
Separation and recycling of wastes that can be reused or recycled.
The biodegradable materials can be put in to deep pits in the ground and be left for natural break down.
The use of incinerators is crucial to disposal of hospital waste.
Irreparable computers and other electronic goods electronic wastes ( e- wastes) are buried in landatls or incinerated and certain metals like copper, iron, silicon, nickel & gold are recovered during recycling process.
