In Bryophytes male reproductive organ is Antheridia and female reproductive organ is Archegonia. In bryophytes gametophyte (n) is primary reproductive organ in the form of male gamete. They produce flagellated motile gametes. They are male gametes and to reach upto female reproductive organ archegonium a thin layer of water is necessary. Female gametophyte is a female organ. It possesses an egg cell. Both these reproductive organs male and female (Anthirediophore) and (Archegoniophores) are produced on haploid gametophyte.
