Acceleration due to gravity (g) on the surface of a planet or moon is given by the formula , `g=(GM)/(R^2)`
Where , M is the mass of the planet or moon and R is the redius of the planet or moon .
(ii) The earth and moon have different masses and radii due to which the value of g is different on their surfaces.
(iii) The value of g moon is `(1/6)^(th)` of that on the surface of earth
Hence, one can jump 6 times higher on the moon compared to that on the earth .
