Can there be an element with atomic mas 53 or 54 in between the two elements ,Chromium`frac(52)((24)Cr` and Mangense `frac(55)(25)`Mn?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In the modern periodic table, the elements are arranged in the order of increasing atomic number. Each element differs from the successive element by 1 unit. Chromium `._(24)^(52)Cr` having atomic number 24 and manganese `._(25)^(55)Mn` having atomic number 25 differ from each other by 1 unit. Hence, there can be no element with atomic mass 53 or 54 in between the two elements, chromium `._(24)^(52)Cr` and manganese `._(25)^(55)Mn`.
