Explain the structure and function of retina in human eye.

Structure and function of retina in human eye:
i. Retina is the light sensitive screen on the back interior wall of the eye ball.
ii. It is a delicate membrane. It consists of large number of light sensitive cells.
iii. These cells get activated when light falls on it. Hence, they generate electrical signals.
iv. These signals are passed by optic nerves to the brain. The brain interprets these signals and processes the infonnation in such a way that we see the objects as they are.
