What is the importance of digestive juices in the digestive system?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Digestive juices contain various enzymes which help in digestion of different types of food . Thus, they convert complex food molecules into simpler form, for examples proteins are converted to amino acids, complex carbohydrates to glucose and lipids to fatty acids and alcohols. The digested food is then absorbed by the walls of the small intestine and taken to every cell of the body through blood vessels.
