Write a short note on bath sponge.

Explanation

i. Bath sponge is a black-coloured and somewhat round-shaped animal.
ii.Body of bath sponge (Euspongia) consists of fibers of a spongin. Due to the presence of these protein fibers it has a good water-holding capacity and was therefore used for bathing in olden days.
iii. It was also used for manufacturing pillows and cushions.
iv.Bath sponges were also used as wetting material to stick postal stamps and to count currency notes.
