Harmful chemicals such as those present in plastic waste, chemical fertilizers, etc., which can kill micro-organisms helping in decomposition process should not be present in the garbage. Thus, non-biodegradable waste such as plastic, thermocol, e-waste, glass, rubber and other harmful chemicals should not be present in garbage for its proper microbial decomposition.
