Types of asexual reproduction in unicellular organism `:`
i. Binary fussion `:`
a.In this process, the parent cell divides to form two similar daughter cells.It occurs either by mitosis or amitosis.
b. It occurs in protists, prokaryotes ( bacteria ) and eukaryotic cell organelles like mitochondria and chloroplast.
Based on the axis of fission `//` division ,binary fission is divided into the following types `:`
1. Simple binary fission `:` e.g. Amoeba divides in any plane due to lack of specific shape.

2. Transverse binary fission `:` e.g. Paramoecium

3. Longitudinal binary fission `:` e.g. Euglena

ii. Multiple fission `:`
a.Whenever there is a lack of food or any other type of adverse condition, Amoebaand other similar protists become rounded and form a protective covering around plasma membrane calledas'cyst'.
b. Repeated nuclear divisions in the cyst result in formation of many nuclei.
c. This is followed by cytoplasmic division and as aresult many encystedamoebulae are formed.
d. Under favourableconditions, cyst breaks open and many amoebulae are released.

iii. Buddings `:`
a. In unicellular fungus i.e. yeast , a parent cell produces two daughter nuclei by mitotic division.
b. A small bulge known as a bud, appears on the surface of parent cell.
c. One of the two daughter nuclei enters this bud.
d. After sufficient growth, the bud detaches from parent cell and starts to live independently as a daughter yeast cell.
