In humans,germ cells are diploid but sperm and oocytes are haploid. Explain the given statement in detail.

i. Each germ cell carries 22 pairs of autosomes and1 pair of sex chromosome. ( i.e. `44+ ` XX or 44 `+` XY ) .
ii. In human, germs cells undergo meiosis to produce sperms and oocytes.
iii. When these germ cells divide by meiosis, haploid gametes are formed.
iv. Two types of sperms are produced as ( 22 `+` X ) or ( 22 `+` X ) .
Hence in humans, germ cells are diploid but sperms and oocytes are haploid.
