Gender of child is determined by the male partner of couple . The given statement is true, because `:`
i. In human males, the `23^(rd)` pair of chromosome contains, two dissimilar chromosomes- 'X' chromosome and 'Y' chromosome.
ii. In females , the `23^(rd)` pair contains two 'X' chromosomes.
iii. All children inherit one 'X' chromosome from their mother. The other chromosome is inherited from the father.
iv. If the chromosome inherited from the father is 'X', then the child will be a girl and if it is 'Y', then the child will be a boy.

Thus, the sex of the child is determined by the male partner of couple.
