Water vapour comes out from the plant leaf through the stomatal opening. Through the same stomatal opening carbon dioxide diffuses into the plant during photosynthesis. Reason out the above statements using the following options.

A

(a) One process occurs during daytime, and the other at night

B

(b) Both processes cannot happen simulta- neously

C

(c) Both processes can happen together because the diffusion coefficient of water and `CO_2` is different

D

(d) The above processes happen only during nighttime

The following are the two statements regarding carbon dioxide: (a) Carbon dioxide produced during cellular respiration must be eliminated from the body. (b) Carbon dioxide reacts with water to form carbonic acid and thus increases pH. Of the above statements, which one of the following options is correct

All plants give out oxygen during day carbon dioxide during night . Do you agree with this statement ? Give reason

A metal foil is at a certain distance from an isotropic point source that emits energy at the rate P. Let us assume the classical physics to be applicable. The incident light energy will be absorbed continuously and smoothly. The electrons present in the foil soak up the energy incident on them. For simplicity , we can assume that the energy incident on a circular path of the foil with radius 5xx10^(-11) m (about that of a typical atom ) is absorbed by a single electron. The electron absorbs sufficient energy to break through the binding forces and comes out from the foil. By knowing the work function, we can calculate the time taken by an electron to come out i.e., we can find out the time taken by photoelectric emission to start. As you will see in the following questions, the time decay comes out to be large, which is not practically observed. The time lag is very small. Apparently, the electron does not have to soak up energy . It absorbs energy all at once in a single photon electron interaction. if work function of the metal of the foil is 2.2 eV, the time taken by electron to come out is nearly

Read the following statement carefully. A. The diffusion membrane is made up of three major cellular layers. B . The partial pressure of oxygen and carbon dioxide gases in mmHg are the same for both deoxygenated blood and tissue. Select correct option about the above statements .

The experimental observations show that the waiting time for emission is 10^(-8) s. This observation contradicts the calculations based on classical physics view of light energy . Thus we have to assume that during photoelectron emission

Which of the following statements are correct ? (i) When an animal hide, which has negatively charged particles , is soaked in tannin, which contains positively charged colloidal particles, mutual coagulation does not take place. (ii) Photographic films are prepared by coating an emulsion of the light sensitive silver bromide in gelatin over glass plates or celluloid films. (iii) Latex is a colloidal solution of rubber particles which are negatively charged. (iv) In Cottrell precipitator , the smoke , before it comes out from the chimney, is led through a chamber containing plates having a charge opposite to that carried by smoke particles. The particles on coming in contact with these plates acquire some charge and do not get precipitated .

An open vessel full of water is falling freely under gravity. There is a small hole in one face of the vessel, was shown in te figure. The water which comes out from the hole at the instant when hole is at height H above the ground strikes the ground at a distance of x from P. Which of the followin is correct for the situation described? (a). The value of x is 2sqrt((2hH)/(3)) (b). The value of x is sqrt((4hH)/(3)) (c). The value ofx can't be computed from information providec. (d). The question is irrevalent as no water comes out from the hole.

A spray gun is shown in the figure where a piston pushes air out of a nozzle. A thin tube of uniform cross section is connected to the nozzle. The other end of the tube is connected with a small liquid container. As the piston pushes air through the nozzle, the liquid from the container rises into the nozzle and is sprayed out. For the spray gun shown, the radii of the piston and the nozzle are 20 mm and 1 mm respectively. The upper end of the container is open to the atmosphere. If the piston is pushed at a speed of 5 mm s ^(-1) the air comes out of the nozzle with a speed of :
