What is the relationship between depression in freezing point of a solution and molecular mass of the solute ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Depression in freezig point `(DeltaT_f)` is related with molecular mass (M) of solute as following : < br> `DeltaT_f = K _f "(w xx 1000)/(M xx W)`
where `K_f` = molal elevation constant of solvent < br> w = wt. of solute in gm
W = wt. of solution in gm
