What will be the molarity of a solution,...

What will be the molarity of a solution, which contains 5.85g of `NaCl_((s))` per 500 mL ?

A

4 mol `L^(-1)`

B

20 mol `L^(-1)`

C

0.2 mol `L^(-1)`

D

2 mol `L^(-1)`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
A, B, C

Molarity (M) is obtained by following equation,
Molarity `=("weight" xx 1000)/("molecular weight" xx "volume (mL)")`
`=(5.85xx1000)/(58.5xx500) = 0.2 "mol "L^(-1)`
Note : Molarity of solution depends upon the temperature because volume of solution is change with temerature .
