When one end f the copper rod 30 cm long and 8 mm in diameter is kept in boiling water at 100^@ C and the other end is kept in ice, it is found that 1.2 gm of ice melts per minute. What is the thermal conductivity of the rod ?

1 kg of ice occupies 1.1xx10^(-3) m^3 at N.T.P. The volume changes to 1xx10 ^(-3)m^3 , when it is melted. internal latent heat is(latent heat of fusion of ice = 80 k cal/kg P= 1.013xx10^5 N/m^2, J= 4200 J/k cal)
