Copper matte is charged in to Silica lined convertor. Some silica is also added and hot air blast is blown to convert remaining `FeS, FeO & Cu_(2)S//Cu_(2)O` to metalic copper.

The solidified copper obtained has blistered appearance due to the evolution of `SO_(2)`.
