Why is boric acid considered as a weak acid?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Boric acid cannot release `H^+` ions of its own. It receives `Oh^-` ions from water molecules to complete its octet and in turn releases `H^+` ions. Ability of `H_3BO_3` to gain `OH^-` or to release `H^+` is less.
