Explain the effect of temperature on surface tension?

The surface tension of a liquid decreases with the rise of temperature. For small temperature difference, it decreases linearly. Surface tension of a liquid is zero at it.s boiling point. Hence .,the boiling point is called as critical temperature of that liquid.
