When heat energy of 1500J is supplied to a gas the external work done on the gas is 525J. what is the increase in its internal energy.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Heat energy supplied `Delta Q= +1500J`
Exernal work done `Delta w=525J`
By `1^(st)` law of thermodynamics `Delta Q= Delta U+Delta w`
:. `Delta U = Delta Q - Delta w = 1500+525 = 1025J`.
