For two cars A and B in motion distance time graph is shown:

(a) State initial positions of car A and car B.
(b) When and at what distance from the origin, these two cars would meet?
(c) Find final speed of car A and car B.

Text Solution

(i) The initial position of car A = Origin .O.
The initial positon of car B is 500 m from origin .O.
(ii) At 40 s and 600 m away from .O.
(ii)` 15 ms ^(-1), 2.5 ms ^(-1)`

Car A of mass 1000 kg moves on a horizontal straight road with speed 36kmh^(-1) . If the force resisting the motion is 100 N, then find the power of the engine. Now, after covering 200 m distance, car A collides with a stationary car B of same mass and becomes stationary. As a result car B start moving on the horizontal road, then what would be the speed of car B just after the collision? (The engine of car B is off.)

Two cars A and B are moving in same direction with velocities 30 m/s and 20 m/s. When car A is at a distance d behind the car B, the driver of the car A applies brakes producing uniform retardation of 2m//s^(2) . There will be no collision when :-

A car is traveling on a straight level track with a uniform speed of 25 m/s. When the car is moving away from a gun at the same level at a distance of 1500 m the gun is fired at an angle of 45^(@) . Find the distance of the car (kilometers) from the gun when it is hit.
