A halide of Be(X) sublimes on heating and is a bad conductor of electricity in molten state. From its aqueous solution it is diffucult to obtain anhydrous salt. This halide of berylium (X) is obtained by heating berylium oxide with carbon tetrachloride at `800^(@)`C. This halide of berylium forms a complex of the `M_(2)[BeX_(4)]`
