A small particle is placed at the pole of a concave mirror and then moved along the principal axis to a large distance. During the motion, the distance between the pole of the mirror and the image is measured. The prodedure is them repeated with convex mirror, a concave lens and a convex lens. the object is plotted between image distance versus shown in graph with the mirror or lens that is corresponding it.
