Why is the ester hydrolysis slow at the beginning and becomes faster after some time?

Hydrolysis of ester produces acid and alcohol.
'RCOOR' + `H_2O hArr` RCOOH+R'OH'
The acid produced in the hydrolysis act as catalyst for the reaction and so the inceases. The is called autocatalysis.
