In certain cases, physisorption tansfers into chemisorption as temperature is increased. Explain with an example.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
`H_2` is adsorbed on nickel by vander wall's forces (i.e., physisorption) at ordinary termperature. But if temperature is increased, molecules of `H_2` dissociate to from H atoms which are held on the surface of nickel by chemisorption.
