Actinoid contraction is greater from element to element than lanthanoid contraction. Why?

It is due to poorer shielding of the nucleus by 5f lectrons in actinoids compared to 4felectrons of lanthanoids. Due to imperfect shielding of 5f electrons, the effective nuclear charge increases along the series causing contraction in size
