Chloroform is generally prepared from ethanol. Iodoform gives a precipitate with `AgNO_3` solution while chloroform does not. Why ?

C-I bond in iodoform is weaker than C-Cl bond of Chloroform . So C-I bond of iodoform is easily broken to form yellow precipitate of AgI when heated with `AgNO_3`.
