If A and B are independent events, show that
`A^c` and `B^c` are independent,

Text Solution

A and B are independent events.
We have P`(A cap B)`=P(A).P(B)
`therefore P(A. cap B.)=P(A cupB).=1-P(AcupB)` =1[1-P(A)]-P(B)[1-P(A)]
=[1-P(A)][1-P(B)]=P(A.)P(B.)`therefore`A. and B. are independent events.
