Apomixis is the production of seeds without fertilization.
It is a form of asexual reproduction which mimics sexual reproduction.
Hybrid progenty when made to produce seeds by apomixis, will maintain the characteristics of the hybrid.
There will be no segregation of characters as no meiotic division will take place.
Seeds produced by this method will be cheap and therfore affordable to the farmers.
