At `0^@C`, the density of a certain oxide of a gas at 2 bar is the same as that of `N_2` at 5 bar. What is the molecular mass of the oxide?

Density d is given by the relation d = PM/RT
If density and temperature are the same for two gases, we can write `P_1 M_1 = P_2 M_2`
Molecular mass of `N_2 (M_2)` = 28
therefore `2xxM_1` = `5xx28`
therefore `M_1` (Molecular mass of the oxide) = `(5xx28)/2` = `70mol^-1`
