Li2CO3 decomposes at a lower temperature...

`Li_2CO_3` decomposes at a lower temperature whereas `Na_2CO_3` at higher temperature.why?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`Li_2CO_3` is the salt of LiOH (weak base) and `CO_2`(weak acid). The weak base is not capable of reacting strongly with weak acid and hence the product `Li_2CO_3` will decompose readily.
