How is phenol manufactured by Cumene process?

Step- (1): Conversion of Cumene to Cumene hydroperoxide
Cumene is oxidized with oxygen (or) air in the presence of a metal catalyst, at `130^(@)C`. Cumene hydroperoxide is formed.

Step- (2): Conversion of cumene hydroperoxide to phenol.
On heating cumene hydroperoxide with dilute sulphuric acid at 373 K, phenol is formed.
