Explain the role of Microbes in House-hold food products.

House hold products:-
Microbes such as Lactobacillus and other commonly called lactic acid bacteria [LAB] grow in milk and convert it to curd. They also improve the nutritional Quality of the curd by increasing Vitamin `B_(12)`.
The dough, which is used for making foods such as Dosa and idli is also fermented by bacteria. The puffed up appearance of dough is due to the production of `Co_(2)` gas.
Dough, which is used for making bread, is fermented by baker yeast.
A number of traditional drinks and foods are also made by fermentation by the microbes. Ex: Toddy.
Microbes are also used to ferment fish soyabean & bamb0o shoots to make foods.
Different varieties of cheese are ripened by growing specific fungi, which gives them a particular flavor.
