INHERITANCE OF ONE GENE
Monohybrid cross: A cross involving 2 plants differing in one character pair. E.g. Mendel crossed tall and dwarf pea plants to study the inheritance of one gene.

Mendle crossed a true breeding tall pea plant with a true breeding dwarf plant, all the offspring in `F_(1)` generation were tall indicating that tallness is dominant over dwarf. Then he allowed `F_(1)` tall plants for self pollination. In `F_(2)` generation indicates that alleles for tallness and dwarf character segregated during gamete formation.
