Integrate the following functions: (1-cosx)/(1+cosx)

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`(1-cosx)/(1+cosx) = (2 sin^2(x/2))/(2 cos^2(x/2))`
= `tan^2(x/2) = sec^2(x/2)-1`
therefore` int(1-cosx)/(1+cosx) dx = (tanx/2)/(1/2)-x+c`
`x+c-=2tan(x/2)`
