In a potentiometer experiment, it is found that no current passes through the galvanometer, when the terminals of a cell are connected across 50 cm of the potentiometer wire. If the cell is shunted by a resistance of 5 ohm, the balance point is found at 40 cm of the wire from the same end. Find the internal resistance of the cell.

Using a potentiometer, balance points are obtained at 60 cm and 10 cm with two cells connected in series first to support one another and then in opposition respectively. Find the ratio of the emfs of the cells.

In a potentiometer arrangement, a cell of emf 1.25 V gives a balance point at 35.0 cm length of the wire. If the cell is replaced by another cell and the balance point shifts to 63.0 cm, what is the emf of the second cell?
