A block of mass `0.5kg` is kept pressed against a vertical wall by applying a force F of 12N as shown in fig. The coefficient of static friction between the wall an the block is `0.6` and the coefficient kinetic friction is `0.4`. Assuming the block is not moving initially . (a) Will the block start moving ? (b) Find the force exerted on the block by the wall.

Force of friction `f_(s)=mu_(s)N=0.6xx12=7.2N`
Weight of the block `=W=mg`
`=0.5xx9.8=4.9N`
`f_(s) gt W`. So the block will not start moving. The force exerted by the wall on the block is 12N towards left.
