Lead bromide undergoes electrolytic dissociation in the molten state but is a non-electrolyte in the solid state.

In `PbBr_2` in the solid state, there are strong electrostatic forces of attraction between `Pb^(2+)` and `Br^(-)` ions. The ions can.t move. Hence, it is a non- electrolyte. In the molten state, the electrostatic forces of attraction between `Pb^(2+)` and `Br^-` ions are very much decreased. They undergo electrolytic dissociation easily.
