Calculate the molar mass of the following:
`(i) H_(2)O (ii) CO_(2) (iii) CH_(4)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

(i) Molecular mass of `H_(2)O = (2 xx 1.008) + (16.00) = 18.016 amu`
(ii) Molecular mass of `CO_(2) = 12.01 + (2 xx 16.00) = 44.01 amu`
Molecular mass of `CH_(4) = 12.01 + (4 xx 1.008)=16.042` amu
