Suppose the molecular weight of the gas X is `M_1` . According to Eq. 5.25, we have
`V_1/V_2 = sqrt(M_2/M_1) " " (t_2 and t_2` being the same)
In the present case,
`V_1 = 35 mL, V_2 = 29 mL, M_1 = ? " and " M_2 = 71`
`:. 35/29 sqrt(71/M_1) " or " M_1 = 48.74`
`:.` The Molecular weight of the gas `X =48.74`.
