Smallest division on the main scale of given Vernier calipers is 0.5 mm. Vernier scale has 25 divisions and these coincide with 24 main scale divisions. The least count of Vernier callipers is

A boy uses a vernier callipers to measure the thickness of his pencil. He measures it to be 1.4 mm. If the zero error of vernier callipers is + 0.02 cm, what is the correct thickness of pencil ?

The main scale of a vernier calipers reads 10 mm in 10 divisions. Ten divisions of vernier scale coincide with nine divisions of the main scale. When the two jaws of the calipers touch each other, the fifth division of the vernier coincides with 9 main scale divisions and zero of the vernier is to the right of zero of main scale, when a cylinder is tighty placed between the two jaws, the zero of the vernier scale lies slighty to the left of 3.2 cm and the fourth vernier division coincides with a main scale division. Find diameter of the cylinder.

A vernier callipers has 20 divisions on the vernier scale which coincide with 19 divisions on the main scale. The least count of the instrument is 0.1 mm. The main scale divisions are of

1 cm on the main scale of a vernier callipers is divided into 10 equal parts. If 10 divisions of vernier coincide with 8 small divisions of main scale, then the least count of the calliper is.
