Cyclohexylamine is stronger base than aniline because

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The lone pair of electrons on nitrogen in aniline is delocalized due to resonance with benzene ring. Thus, electron density on `-NH_2` group in aniline is decreased. There is no such effect in cyclohexylamine. Therefore, aniline is a weaker base than cyclohexylamine.
