In all four structural isomers are possible. These are :
` 1^@` Amine ` underset("Propan-1-amine ")(CH_3 CH_2 CH_2 NH_2) underset("Propan-2-amine ")(CH_3 - underset(NH_2)underset(|)(CH -CH_3)`
` 2^@ ` Amines : ` underset("N-Methylethanamine ")(CH_3 -NH -C_2 H_5)`
`3^@` Amine : ` underset("N,N-dimethylmethanamine ")(CH_3 - overset(CH_3) overset(|)N-CH_3)`
Only `1^@` amines react with `HNO_2` to liberate `N_2` gas
` underset("Propan-1-amine ")(CH_3 CH_2 CH_2 NH_2 +HNO_2) to underset("Propan-1-ol (major product)")(CH_3CH_2 CH_2 OH +H_2 O +N_2)`
