What does atomic radius and ionic radius really mean to you?

The atomic radius refers to the size of atom and is regarded as the distance from the centre of the nucleus to the outermost shell of electrons. The ionic radius of an ion is defined as the distance from its nucleus to the point upto which the nucleus has influence on the electron cloud of the ion.
